Tough Conditions at Mooloolaba

Great Weather and rough sea conditions greeted Round 4 at Mooloolaba over the weekend, from the beach the water looked flat and fast, not until the teams made their way on to the race course did they know just how different conditions were.

Short sharp swell with no backs made it tough for all the teams most of all was 600hp entrant "BBC Digital” which on the 4th lap tripped on a wave and duffed the boat in to the next with the deck and tunnel blown apart in the impact, Graham Fraser and Scott Gehrman aboard escaped any injuries with the cockpit saying intact.

The battle in the 1000hp class continued between "The Good Guys”, "Team 3” & "Maritimo” continued, "The Good Guys” were in contention until a deck hatch came off and they stopped to check for damage before continuing , "Global Racing”, "Australian Vehicle Wholesale”& "Mazlin Electrical” all had issues throughout the race.

In the end for 1000hp it was "Maritimo” 1st, "Team 3” 2nd & "The Good Guys” 3rd.

600hp class was a tight battle between "Kwozzy” and "BBC Digital’ until the duff from "BBC Digital’ left it all to "Kwozzy”, "SUV Dodge Ram” could not get on the water with 1 of the crew members taken ill.

400hp class it was ”Phantom Racing” taking the win with a new team "The Loaner” with Rookie Daniel Fritsch driving and veteran Karl Wall on the throttles taking a 2nd place for their first outing.
