This weekend (18th March) will see the Offshore Superboat Championship fleet go through pre season scutineering, this will include checking all of the safety equipment required and weighing all the race boats on crane scales. this will be carried out at the Maritimo facility at Coomera on the Gold Coast.

Monday 19th March the racing crew will have their underwater escape course, this envolves each of the crew put into an escape capsule and turned upside down in the water and must be able to make their way out of the capsule unaided, this is to simulate a boat roll over. This is a mandatory test for all onboard crew members to compete in the championships.
